There is also a great utility called 'KDE Connect' for Android devices that either has or is going to have support for Mac devices too, but may still help with this. Of course you can always use VirtualBox with a version of MS Windows and 'iTunes' in that. There is an older Itunes program that works in 'Wine' that might also help. Now you are able to play Apple Music on any music device and player, such as MP3 player, iPod Nano, iPod Classic, iPod Shuffle, iPod Touch, iPhone, Android tablet, Zune, PSP, PS4, Xbox, Apple Watch, Windows Media Player, QuickTime, etc. As I mentioned before, you may have to put your iPod into 'disk mode' see link below. Apple Music Converter aims to free Apple Music files from any restrictions. which have to be 'checked' to be enabled and then Amarok restarted -see pic below.
In Amarok, there are settings in the 'plugins' and maybe some 'scripts' for iOS, Ipod, iPad, etc. Most newer cellphones and Smart Phones have superb music (and video) abilities, so you really do not need another portable music and or video device. And, it is not because I do not like them, although I do not like their proprietary nature.
I do not own any Apple (Mac) devices, but I have read a lot on them.
